Sunday spread: 'There was a mass call for Philly, there was a mass call for L.A.'
01/14/01 - Philadelphia Inquirer
Adam Eidinger, a protest leader from Washington, D.C., was arrested during the convention. He is organizing demonstrations for the Bush inauguration.
"We've stopped organizing civil disobedience out in the open. There was a mass call for Philly, there was a mass call for L.A. We're going to shut down the meetings now. The police are following people around. We're planning small groups of people out on the Mall and along the parade group. You can't pen us in.
Blocking streets is not a tactic for this protest. We're discouraging direct action. This is not the event to do that. Locally we all know better. We know you don't talk about stopping the president from doing anything....
We have posters all over town saying 'Hail to the Thief.'"
